What every okay seller has to know:
okays new Feedback change includes this fabulous new addition:
Buyers can only receive POSITIVE feedback
As a seller on okay for almost 13 years, this may be the one that finally breaks the camel's back! In all these years and thousands of feedback, I have received only 2 negatives. One from a buyer that I emailed back and forth with for 60 days, trying to collect the money for an auction, and the other from a $20 item that the buyer just left feedback and did not even contact me first.
The only way I have found to defend myself when something unfair happens to me is to leave the buyer a negative feedback, then they are willing to try to resolve the problem. We are able to hash it out, and then I submit a mutual feedback withdrawl and both sides are "happy". Now they might as well throw us all into the center of a pack of hungry wolves with no defenses.
Since I have bought on okay hundreds if not thousands of times, I know very well how if I pay on time and am fair to a seller if I have a dispute, I will not receive unfair feedback. Thus I have never received a single negative or neutral from a seller. What they are doing is taking away our only way to get buyers to treat us fairly if they are not, not to mention is it not our right to be able to defend ourselves? Is it not bad enough that the majority of sellers are good, and lots of us have received feedback we did not deserve. I did not then go crying to okay that this was not fair, I just knew this was the way it was and that my buyers who cared about my negative, would take the time to read my rebuttle in the customers feedback and let me voice what hadhappened.
This is definitely going to make for a hostile environment for buyers and sellers. Sellers Blocked Buyers List will begee too long to count since we will not know who we can trust to buy from us. I personally will probably not allow anyone to bid on my items who has less than 200 feedback. This is because I have found it is usually a new okay buyer who will leave me bad feedback because they do not yet understandhow importantfeedback is to us as members. I hate the thought of punishing buyers who I probably would never have any problems with, but okay is leaving us no choice.
I guess okay does not understand that without us sellers, they have nothing. Who is it that pays all the fees and puts food in their mouth? It is not me as a buyer, but me as a SELLER who lines their pockets. We have got to stand up for ourselves about this one as they have definitely gone too far this time.
I have much more to say but I will leave it at those few statements. If this has not already happened to you as a seller, just know that if you stay on okay long enough and have enough transactions, that the day will gee where you receive feedback you did not deserve and you will not be able to do anything about it. So PLEASE,click the contact button and take 5 minutes to email okayto voice your concerns. I will not even mention the fact they are hiding the lower insertion fees by the close to doubled Final Value fees. I saw someone say maybe it should be renamed "Feokay".
THANKS!
