Tube Works Real Tube RT-902 Overdrive Preamp

This is a tube driven (12AX7A) Overdrive/preamp. It was designed by the legendary B.K. Butler and manufactured in the USA by Keynote Ind. Great to add some real tube harmonics to your solid state amp, overdrive your clean tube amp, or for direct recording!First off, you can pick from a wide variety of tubes and change the character of the amp as easy as pluging in a lightbulb. The GT is a screamer that gets nice and chunky when you back off it.
The sovtek is like a bath of warm fuzz :) The tung-sol (my favorite)
has a hint of fuzz but more biting than the sovtek. The JJ is really
fat and more bluesy.Inside the case. Really thick sheet metal lets this rack mount unit hold up to tons of abuse. The bypass and boost switches. Can also be controlled with a foot switch. The boost gives you just that little bit extra for face melting solos. The best thing about this preamp is the amount of tone controls it has. Drive - this is the main distortion controlContour - fine tone controlBias - scoops out the midrange for that classic crunch soundMaster - output levelLow - boost or cut the low frequencyMid - boost or cut the mid frequencyHigh - boost or cut the high frequencyThe second best thing is the amount of in/outs!Line and instrument level in/outs and inputs for the Boost/Bypass foot switches. The line outs are great for recording directly into your mixer and the line ins are great for using this as a FX unit to add distortion or brighten a track. With all the controls this thing is a tone monster. Lots of fun tweaking away all day on the knobs. I can get everything from SCREAMING solos to chunky rhythm to clean sparkle out of this.I regemend picking one of these up if you can find it. I know I am never selling mine!Rock On! \m/
