Hi there,
This is my first time putting a guide together so apologies firstly if it gees across as either a dictatingletter or essay. However I have had numerous experiences pertaining to so-called high end audio 'DEALS'.
I was approached the other week by a potential customer asking why he should buy a CDJ1000 MK3 for $1200US when he could buy one from China for justunder $300US. Now my first word of advise if you see such a price, is run the opposite direction! And for those who like to give the benefit of the doubt, if you honestly think you are going to be happy doing a "deal" on a $300 CDJ1000 MK3, all the power to you! I will guarantee 99.9% you WILL NOT receive a working CDJ1000 MK3 if you receive anything at all. These units used (second-hand, for those still using metric) are still fetching around $800US+
So the options open up......Why are they so cheap, well here's my blunt answer(s):
They are stolen
They don't work
Pioneer WILL NOT honor the warranty
They are terribly damaged i.e. some guy used it for rifle practice
They don't even exist...what is better known internationally as a scam(my personal opinion)
They are part of a larger ring of con's in a global operation as I've bumped into on Yahoo Auctions with the same unit.
This leads me onto my final word of advise as we have all been told over and over again......If they refuse to use Paypal or demand funds outside of okay such as Western Union, report it immediately to okay.
Spend the extra dollars and enjoy a great product, if it looks like a scam.....i.e. way below geprehendible value.....it's likely to be a scam. Be careful with anything you buy that looks too good to be true. I'm not saying go and buy the most expensive either, shop around, don't be afraid to bombard sellers with questions relevant to the item or product. As a seller, we are happy to answer your questions to make sure you get the right item to suit your needs.
BE SAFE!
Thanks,
John Hanson
